Graduate Assistantships
Limited graduate assistantships are available fall and spring only. Persons interested should submit an assistantship application to the Office of Graduate Studies. All application materials for admission should be completed before applying. The student must have at least an undergraduate GPA of 3.00/4.00 or above. Students should also contact the office of financial aid concerning loans, work-study and other possible sources of funding.
Students awarded a Graduate Assistantship must remain in good standing academically in order to continue. Graduate students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Academic probation status will result in permanent forfeiture of the graduate assistantship. Academic performance of students is evaluated each semester to determine continuation of eligibility. The assistantship pays up to six credit hours per semester (Fall and Spring). Tuition adjustments will be made for students separating from the university following the close of registration.
Students interested in assignments as an assistant for athletics must be recommended by the athletic director and name submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies for processing. A complete copy of the student’s class schedule and a job description from the student’s department must accompany the form.
